Blogging Class: Take 2
Yes, I admit it, I have recently discovered that I am not perfect(I am sure all of you are as shocked as I was), as last week I completely forgot about making my posts. Such is my life, forgetfulness and procrastination. On a lighter note, I DID remember this week, and vow to bring you all wonderful material for you to feast your eyes upon. First up, concerning this class. I was extremely excited to find that I was able to get in, and quite ready to get started. I do have to say however, it is quite a different format than I am used to, which is not a bad thing really...just different. As I mentioned before, I forgot about last week completly, but I am hoping that was just a one time thing. I would love to see more interaction between bloggers, and I have several ideas.
First off, as we do not meet regularly(if at all), all of these deal with posting, although I had some other ideas
-Although comments on each other's pages is very nice and all, writing an actual response blog would be interesting, possibly just a one time thing, but we can see where it takes us
-Having a student-led topic is something I would really like to try, possibly with around 3 students a week presenting a topic for disscussion, of which everyone could pick one to focus on. Yet again, this would spark more interaction and discussion
-I would love for this class to be able to improve Linworth in any way we can, for instance, I was recently looking at GoodSearch, a search engine, unlike google, that donates the proceeds it gets from ads to charities and nonprofit organizations including schools, I would love it if we could get this started for Linworth, to go to new computers. Seeing as you can get around one cent for every click, and if we got the entire school doing this, as well as puting in a search box in on all of out blogs, we could make a decent amount of money! Please give me any feedback you have on this idea, because this is something I think we could really work with.
